Home

Home is a place of peace and tranquility
A place where every piece has a handprint of your identity
Every picture brings a smile to your face.
Home is an extension of your own self
And there is no one to please but your own soul
Home is the place of unconditional love
A place full of the music of laughter
And of unrestrained conversations
Where the mind can relax and soul can rejuvenate
Home is the place where one is unafraid
Home is the place of ultimate freedom
Home is the sanctuary where no one can touch you
Home is the place where you can come alive in your full form
A place where you can find yourself
And do the things you want to do
Read the books you want, dance to the music you like
Paint the walls in your color, listen to songs you love
Watch what you want to see, learn the skills you want to learn
It is the place where hope takes birth
It is the place that gives you strength
It is the place of resting and love
It is the place where God resides
It is the place where the angels visit you
From afar I do long for you
And hold you always in my heart!

Unconditional Love

What is the one thing without which any living being cannot survive? What is at the heart of existence? What is the soul made of? What is the nature of God? I think the answer to all these questions is unconditional love. Whenever and wherever we find unconditional love, we are inexplicably and instantly attracted towards that source. It is the most pervasive and ancient form of truth. In the warm embrace of unconditional love we can all be who we are in essence. There is nothing to prove to anyone, nothing to win, nothing to lose, just a consciousness of pure being. It is where you are content to say "I am" and nothing else matters. To be completely fearless. To win over the primal fear of death. To be immortal. To feel connected with the universe through love and be a part of that all encompassing "I". All I am looking for is the road from here to there. It is the only worthy mission in life.

Dear Papa...

When I look up in gratitude and remember my God to be true,
I do think he was so kind to me, for I was born to a man like you;
A father so patient, generous, loving and kind,
A human with a golden heart and a beautiful mind;
Caring in your heart, yet tough outside,
There was always love hidden behind the father’s pride;
Without condition you stood like a protective wall,
Reserving the pain for yourself alone and only pleasure for us all;
A will so strong, to rise on your own might,
To bid for the moon and never know fright;
To rise and fall yet rise again,
To build yourself from ashes and ignore the pain;
The more I look at you the more I learn,
How to give light to the world, even when you burn;
The more I think I do realize- the way I think, the way I talk,
I borrowed from you even the way I walk;
I hope someday I can do justice,
To the sacrifices of a man so great;
And be an example of human effort,
Not a mere slave to my fate!

Grateful to life

Life has gone through a whirlwind of a change in the past years. It is strange and beautiful at the same time, and is, most certainly, your biggest guru. The most important journey one can embark on in one's life is the journey to the self. Slowly yet passionately unravel yourself, discover who you are and life becomes richer and more meaningful. It is what Joseph Campbell  would probably call 'a hero's journey'. More often than not the path to this discovery is difficult, you have to constantly step out of your comfort zone, struggle, get thrashed, fall, learn and stand up again. But the process of growth has always been a process full of struggle. You have to file your rough edges and constantly increase your tolerance to friction, but you come out finer and more glorious in the end- wiser, braver, tolerant, in control and victorious. At the end of the day, no matter how ugly was the initial battle, you stand taller and all you feel is just supremely grateful for it all!
