Heaven

I’m chasing a dream, an impossible dream
Where you and I are frolicking in the woods
I push you away; then take you in my arms
You kiss me on the forehead and take my face in your palms
I ride on your shoulders like foolish little girls
We run towards the lake in twists and twirls
But each time you look at me with that dazzling smile
My heart skips several beats and it’s hard to hide
That I worship and adore you more than humanly possible
Such incredible depth of emotion is hardly plausible
When you look at me my eyes sparkle like two stars
I feel like a million rosebuds that blossom into flowers
Call me crazy or sane, foolish or wise
It’s hard to breathe without you, with you time flies
I’m chasing a dream, an impossible dream
To be with you forever and ever
To be lost in you like a river in the sea
To be merged in you so I can be free!

Only you

In the strength of my will
In the flow of my bloodstream
In the warmth of my breath
In the fire of my passion
In the touch of love
In the joy of my heart
In the truth of my words
In the beauty of my sight
The life is you, only you, nothing but you!

The Morning Song

When we feel down and out,

and nothing in life feels worthwhile,

Let's rise before the sun and open the window,

and greet him with a resilient smile.

Let's listen to the songs we sang when we were young,

and borrow our youth from the clutches of time.

Let's look at the world through the sieve of wisdom,

and face our fears till they fritter away.

Let's revive that spirit that made us feel glorious,

and one with the entire universe.

A universe that's our friend and is full of possibilities.

Let us get prepared to get soiled and dirty,

and plant new seeds of hard work.

Let us feel the blood in our veins,

And hear the music of our heartbeat.

Let us begin to give ourselves

The gift of life we forgot to live!

From the ephemeral poet...

From the ephemeral poet comes the trivial story of his youth, soon to be lost like footsteps in the sands of time. I speak of the inconsequential victories and passionate love; memories, only to lie with me in my grave. For what is a revolution if not circling the same point? Change IS the constant, says the ephemeral poet, and the reigns will change hands with my last breath. But if I live,it has to be in the fighting spirit of a dim light against the vast darkness of ignorance. I leave behind the words, each containing a laugh, a tear, some sorrow, some glee, pieces of a life lived full, a torrent of ebullient energy. It is the journey, says the ephemeral, poet not the destination which makes it worthwhile. Live and live and live, he says, so when the time comes, your heart is full, your hands are empty and your lips have a smile...

My Religion

Do you see the walls coming down?
A disarming smile is taking over the frown.

Riveted you stand as the world around you goes dark
Your eyes are locked to mine setting off a spark;

There you stand in your frigid affectation
While your heart melts in sensuous elation;

But the heart can't discern what's foolish or wise,
Mind tells you to ply cold reason, and think twice;

You don't see me for my soul, or the path I've tread
And judge me by name, place and the books I've read?

God is not in sanctioned symbols, brutal discipline and instructed words,
He resides in the loving heart, the air we breathe and the song of the birds.

You trust your eyes to see my color? Dark or light, white or brown;
Reality as you know it is a sham, earth once flat turned out to be round!

Let us open our minds to this fresh stimulation;
An age of cultivated reason, enlightened faith and jubilation.

This is the fountainhead of knowledge we've found;
It is only love that makes the world go around.

My twin soul

My Twin Soul
Smile of a million stars that shine
Scent of the morning incense divine
he's my love ,my life, my soul...

Eyes of a brilliant promise preserved
Words of mellifluous music unheard
that's my love, my life, my soul...

Hands that give, that hold, that hurt
Touch that heals,that feels, lends worth
that's my love, my life, my soul...

Tears of joy, of love, of pain
Sealed are those lips,they never complain
that's my love, my life, my soul...

Heart that has learnt nothing but to love
Deeds befitting gods in the heavens above
My dreams,my hopes,my prayers came true
When my darling, my love, I met you!

If Only...

Forgive me for my foolish mistakes,
The unrequited love, the heartbreaks.

Every word you spoke came true,
A fool was I to not listen to you.

You opened your heart to me when I had none
A clueless journey had I begun.

Why couldn't I give you the reverence you deserved?
For whom was I keeping my passion reserved?

Now you have it all, yet you feel at loss
We couldn't be together even if our paths did cross

Blind was I to not see the treasures since unseen
Only to lament later for what could have been...

To the little angel...

Mellifluous laugh, heart is warm;

None are immune to your innocent charm

Daddy's little girl, apple of mumma's eye;

Whoever meets you once can never say goodbye

Tender is your heart, your manner kind;

All the treasures of the world you shall find.

Around the globe, wide and far;

Happiness will find you wherever you are!

My World

The rays of the sun bring to light your face,
I thank the Lord for his kind grace.
Your warm embrace engulfs my being
Is it heaven on earth my eyes are seeing?
You drink the love that my heart pours
And a tender smile reaches those lips of yours.
You say goodbye holding me to your heart;
“Tis only till dusk that we shall part.”
The setting sun makes my spirits rise,
With your approaching steps my sorrow dies.
As my tired eyes drink the nectar of your sight,
They dispel the darkness in my soul and all is bright!

Beyond You

Sinking in the marshes of my willful defeat,

Stooping my forehead to the ground

There I lay for the world to see,

The seeker ,too lost himself to be found!

Deep into the labyrinth of this perfidious forest

My faith grew weary and the will gave way

“Solitude is the prevailing truth.”

“You are alone”, the mind would say.

“You looked for sense where there was none.”

“You looked for meaning in chaos through your run.”

As the vistas were relenting to the weight of my thoughts,

And the light began to disappear;

Emanating from the heart of the forest; my belying heart wondered,

“Is that a song from your flute, I hear?”

My heart throbbed, my breathing stopped;

As it dawned on my fading senses;

“Finally I find it is true! I, the seeker, was always meant to find you!”

You hex me into submission and entangle me in your love

You are peace to the body, truth to the mind, salvation to the soul,

The deity and the devotee and the expanse of the heavens above!

All but a glimpse it took to comprehend

There is nothing beyond you;

You are the genesis and the end!

Before Dawn Arrives

When my own shadow leaves my side and my tears become invisible,

When the very wind I breathe is laden with sadness

And my treacherous heart aches with the burden of love;

Embrace me oh blessed darkness and don't leave my side

For you are the haven for the fallen

And the messiah for lost souls,

Make me your own and let me disappear,

So that when they come looking, I may not be near!

Let the mind sleep and the heart take over,

As the pain gives way to prayer ,

And the silence becomes my song;

Don't leave my side,oh blessed darkness...

...till dawn comes along...

The Cheese Cake Factory

No two people have ever shared an absolutely identical view of the world. At least, that's what Einstein means to advocate, so I'll take his word for it. Moreover, on a closer inspection of life one feels more and more each day how the elusive concept of "happiness" is exceedingly relative. "One man's meat; another man's poison." Therefore, sometimes I amuse myself by trying to look at my life through a stranger's eyes. The exercise is quite helpful and leaves me feeling immensely humbled with gratitude at the alter of the almighty. Then again, there are times that warrant unqualified appreciation!

I went to The Cheese Cake Factory today with my very sweet and dutiful husband. He always seems to keep my wants ahead of his own needs. I found the experience really warm and it came as a refreshment for my otherwise dreary spirits.The attendant was very personable and nice. The chef had to be somewhat inventive to make the pasta I had chosen to suit my vegetarian palette, and I must say he did complete justice to the job.The ambiance was very conducive for easy and uninhibited conversation. The cakes seemed extraordinary and decadent(an indulgence I didn't allow myself but totally lusted after)! :) Consequently,I left with a bounce in my step and a smile on my face.

We live in a vile, cruel world! The enormities of our everyday lives can leave us feeling hopeless. We, therefore, must never take for granted the tiny and utterly simple blessings like The Cheese Cake Factory where we can share a laugh, breathe a few sweet words and simply enjoy in the company of our loved ones! So at the end of the day before you shut your eyes to surrender to your dreams, the thought that dominates your mind is just...Thank you!

Chasing shadows

The days are drawn, the music’s gone;

But I’m still here to see the walls close in.

Will you be watching when my hope shakes?

Will you push me over when my will breaks?

Give me sweet silence, a new beginning,

Help me crossover to the other end.

For I’m tired! Tired of chasing shadows all my life!

Rescue me, be my savior,

Take me to the point of no return;

Put me to sleep so these eyes won’t burn.

Pull me from this swirling maze

Take me to a peaceful place.

A place of laughter, a place of love;

A place of hope, a place of warmth;

A place where life is a soothing song.
