Beyond You

Sinking in the marshes of my willful defeat,

Stooping my forehead to the ground

There I lay for the world to see,

The seeker ,too lost himself to be found!

Deep into the labyrinth of this perfidious forest

My faith grew weary and the will gave way

“Solitude is the prevailing truth.”

“You are alone”, the mind would say.

“You looked for sense where there was none.”

“You looked for meaning in chaos through your run.”

As the vistas were relenting to the weight of my thoughts,

And the light began to disappear;

Emanating from the heart of the forest; my belying heart wondered,

“Is that a song from your flute, I hear?”

My heart throbbed, my breathing stopped;

As it dawned on my fading senses;

“Finally I find it is true! I, the seeker, was always meant to find you!”

You hex me into submission and entangle me in your love

You are peace to the body, truth to the mind, salvation to the soul,

The deity and the devotee and the expanse of the heavens above!

All but a glimpse it took to comprehend

There is nothing beyond you;

You are the genesis and the end!

Before Dawn Arrives

When my own shadow leaves my side and my tears become invisible,

When the very wind I breathe is laden with sadness

And my treacherous heart aches with the burden of love;

Embrace me oh blessed darkness and don't leave my side

For you are the haven for the fallen

And the messiah for lost souls,

Make me your own and let me disappear,

So that when they come looking, I may not be near!

Let the mind sleep and the heart take over,

As the pain gives way to prayer ,

And the silence becomes my song;

Don't leave my side,oh blessed darkness...

...till dawn comes along...

The Cheese Cake Factory

No two people have ever shared an absolutely identical view of the world. At least, that's what Einstein means to advocate, so I'll take his word for it. Moreover, on a closer inspection of life one feels more and more each day how the elusive concept of "happiness" is exceedingly relative. "One man's meat; another man's poison." Therefore, sometimes I amuse myself by trying to look at my life through a stranger's eyes. The exercise is quite helpful and leaves me feeling immensely humbled with gratitude at the alter of the almighty. Then again, there are times that warrant unqualified appreciation!

I went to The Cheese Cake Factory today with my very sweet and dutiful husband. He always seems to keep my wants ahead of his own needs. I found the experience really warm and it came as a refreshment for my otherwise dreary spirits.The attendant was very personable and nice. The chef had to be somewhat inventive to make the pasta I had chosen to suit my vegetarian palette, and I must say he did complete justice to the job.The ambiance was very conducive for easy and uninhibited conversation. The cakes seemed extraordinary and decadent(an indulgence I didn't allow myself but totally lusted after)! :) Consequently,I left with a bounce in my step and a smile on my face.

We live in a vile, cruel world! The enormities of our everyday lives can leave us feeling hopeless. We, therefore, must never take for granted the tiny and utterly simple blessings like The Cheese Cake Factory where we can share a laugh, breathe a few sweet words and simply enjoy in the company of our loved ones! So at the end of the day before you shut your eyes to surrender to your dreams, the thought that dominates your mind is just...Thank you!

Chasing shadows

The days are drawn, the music’s gone;

But I’m still here to see the walls close in.

Will you be watching when my hope shakes?

Will you push me over when my will breaks?

Give me sweet silence, a new beginning,

Help me crossover to the other end.

For I’m tired! Tired of chasing shadows all my life!

Rescue me, be my savior,

Take me to the point of no return;

Put me to sleep so these eyes won’t burn.

Pull me from this swirling maze

Take me to a peaceful place.

A place of laughter, a place of love;

A place of hope, a place of warmth;

A place where life is a soothing song.
